The Spaces In Between

I am irrelevant and could never command you
Of my silent dissonance, the ringing in my ear is deafening
Each slight of emotion building up through tear ducts in my eyes
Every sunset
Every sunrise
I am the stillness that time takes no joy in commiserating
I have developed an ineptitude for alteration
Destination to places unknown, still wandering the sidelines
Every sunset
Every sunrise
I am the thought of your smile in the twilight
The calming joy of your brotherly affection and camaraderie
My skillful obedience to your nonexistence and demise
Every sunset
Every sunrise
Here like an eternity, I steep in the woulda, coulda, shoulda's
If my temptations to evolve gives fuel to sedition
I am the turning of the season from summer to fall, my disguise
Every sunset
Every sunrise
You take shapes in the shadows, caricatured patterns on the wall
Solitude eats at the bruises that have been healing since creation
Words race through my head in a blur of ambiguous designs
Every sunset
Every sunrise
I am a fistful of dollars into a bank that has no security
Tiptoed elegance into a trance, balking at heredity and feigned indifference
There awaits me a plane of grey matter and ice cold fire
Every sunset
Every sunrise
