Henney Went For A Walk

she was done
a burned out star in the night sky
her glow was gone
a river of tears she cried
had all dried up
she had enough

she was done
another dead end road on highway life
here she was alone
years of second guessing
playing house, so unimpressing
decisions gone wrong

it had the taste of a dirty penny
it cooled and then warmed
and it ended many
it had a taste, it had a taste
she wanted so badly to indulge her thirst
but it was such a waste

she counted to ten and strolled on by
