Seaweed Pelicans

take flight and sore into the sky
heaven can't deny you
become the change you're pretending to be
or die trying
you don't need me to justify your feelings
i can't be the reason you're wasted
take flight and see the world
you'll remember that you're not broken

it's not too late to admit that your wrong
keep fading away like you always do
if the truth is the poison that is killing us
then drink it down and remain untrue

it's not mine that you want
it's the feeling in the moment
there's always a sunset or silver lining
an escape from all this judgement
there will come a time
when you'll look back on me and wonder why my love failed
but it was not mine that you wanted
you were the one who bailed

i cannot be wasted on you
hoping that you will see me, through all your impossibilities
and you deny me, deny me trust
I'm frozen with all of my insecurities

is it my turn at bat
i can't be frozen, waiting for a miracle
are you going to break me again, another heartache
I'm still frozen, waiting for a miracle

it's not mine that you want
it's the feeling in the moment
there's always a surrender, a truce to call
i'm imprisoned by your judgement
if you could fly away, and never look back
would you find a love cling to
because it was not mine that you wanted
[and the greener grass was never new]
